George David Webb 2022

We regret to announce the passing of our father, David Webb, on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital.
Born September 8, 1946, in Sydney, he was the son of the late George and Dolly (Winsor) Webb. David lived in South Bar most of his life and raised his family there.
He was a mechanic by trade and worked at MacMullin’s Esso in Sydney and then Price’s Shell in Louisbourg. He enjoyed his work and his customers, many of whom became his friends. Before working as a mechanic, he was part of a group who braved the searing heat of the blast furnaces at Sydney Steel. Prior to that, he worked at refinishing pianos with his father.
David is survived by his daughters, Bernice (Peter) and Georgina (Tom); son, Keith (Barbara); grandchildren, Nicole, Roberta, Douglas, David, Daniel and Reilly; and great-grandchildren, Zoey, Ainsley, Peyton, Hunter, Abraheem and Layla.
The last surviving member of his immediate family, David was predeceased by his parents and brother, Andrew Webb.
A special thank you to his granddaughter, Roberta, who helped care for him in his final months.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Donations in David’s memory can be made to: Paws Mart – Aileen’s Pets Without Vets, 744 Victoria Road, 902-270-7297, pawsmart@hotmail.com or your local SPCA.
