BEATRICE ELEANOR MEADE
November 15, 1934 to April 30, 2022
It is with extreme sadness we announce the passing of our matriarch, Beatrice, who passed into eternity on April 30, 2022. Our hearts are broken and she will be forever missed by many.
Our dear mom was a force to be reckoned with for sure as her family and friends well know. If ever a situation arose that needed some umph you would go into ‘Beatty” mode and take care of it. She was loved and cherished by all who knew her.
Her biggest passions were going to the casino and watching curling. She went on numerous trips to Vegas and other casino with various friends and family and she loved every minute. Some of her gambling trips were with her best friend Evelyn whom she enjoyed visiting and reminiscing with.
She was an avid curler in her younger years and watched it faithfully on tv every chance she got. And she was sure to cuss out the curlers when they made a bad shot.
A couple of her favorite places to go other than a casino were Black Island and Sand Cherry Bay where she spent a lot of time in her younger years, thanks to cousin Reg for taking her there.
And she loved spending time in her forever home of Manitogogan where she spent many evenings playing cards with her good friends Rose and Audrey and aunty Maryjane to name just a few. She also loved cooking for the feasts in Hollow Water with Zub and other friends, staying up all night cooking and preparing. Thanks to cousin Buzzy and Zub and family for the love you showed her, she loved you all dearly.
And many thanks to all of her numerous nieces and nephews that called or came to visit and just spend time with her. She has too many to mention by name but you were all her favorite and she loved you all dearly.
Most of her friends have gone on and she missed the good times she had with them.
She is the last surviving child of Nanny and papa whom she missed dearly. She was predeceased by her husband Henry, her parents Louis and Margaret Simard, her brothers Harold, Alex, Dick, Louis Jr and Garnet, her sisters Edna, Mary, Minnie, Barbara and Ethel and her great granddaughter Rikki, and her sons in law JJ and Allan and many Meade in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is survived by her daughters Lois, Jenny, Wanda, Holly, Bonnie, Rosalie, Sherry and her sons Henry Jr and Adam as well as her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and her Meade brothers-in-law, Elmer (Agnes), Arthur (Alice) and Charlie Meade.
Thank you to all of the family and friends for the love they showed our dear mom, she was truly blessed.
Cremation will take place and a Celebration of her Life will be held in Manigotogan at a later date.
In lieu of flowers feel free to throw a buck or two into a vlt or make a donation to cancer care in her honour.
