Brenda June Adair (née Leech)
Brenda June Adair (née Leech) of Golden Lake, passed away peacefully at the Madawaska Valley Hospice in Barry’s Bay, surrounded by the love of her family on Monday, May 2, 2022 at the age of 80 after having fought a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Beloved wife for almost 59 years of Brian Adair, loved and cherished mother of Kevin and Charlotte (McRae) of Ottawa and cherished grandmother of Joanna and Sarah. Sister to Ann (Leech) and Keith Eady of Renfrew. Sister-in-law to Bruce and Joan of Golden Lake, Harold (deceased) and Cathy of Ottawa and Elizabeth of British Columbia. Sadly missed by all her nieces, nephews and their families.
Brenda is predeceased by her parents Richard Leech and Eileen (Mick) of Lake Dore, her loving son Andrew “Brent” Adair of Ottawa and her brother Roy Leech.
Brenda was born in Kirkland Lake. Her family moved to Lake Dore when she was a young child. She was an x-ray technician by trade working in Deep River, Ottawa and Pembroke. Brenda loved gardening, square dancing, quilting, reading and was always an active member of the church community.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Brenda with her family during visitation at the Zohr Family Funeral Home, Eganville on Friday, May 6th, 2022 between 6:00 and 8:00pm; or Saturday, from 9:30 to 11:30am. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel beginning at 1:30p.m.
Interment to follow in Melville United Cemetery. In memory of Brenda, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Melville United Church would be appreciated. Tributes, condolences and donations can be made online at www.zohrfuneralhome.com.

  1. I am very saddened to hear of Brenda’s passing. I knew her through the horticultural society. Brenda was so generous sharing her gardening knowledge as well as plants from her beautiful gardens. I still enjoy the perennials she kindly gave me and they pleasantly remind me of her. I’m sure your wonderful memories of her will be a comfort in the difficult times ahead.
