Linville Hugh Edwin 2022

February 24, 1927 – April 30, 2022
at the age of 95 years:
A memorial reception will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 1 – 3 pm, at Fischer’s Funeral Services, 4060 1st Ave., SW, (turn off at Salmon River Road)
In loving memory of our dear father. He was born February 24, 1927, and passed away on April 30, 2022, to join his wife of 58 years, Laura. Hugh was predeceased by his parents John & Iola Linville, brothers Roy & Harold, sisters Jean Hamaan & Sybil Beatty. He is survived by sisters Barbara Wright & Joyce Boyd. Dad is also leaving behind his children Kevin (Michelle), Kelly Giesbrecht, Leslie Stuart (Todd), Lorie Moore (Calvin), Barney (Sandy) and Leigh Anne (Misha). Also, his 10 grandchildren and 14+ great grandchildren.
Dad left the farm in Elk Point, AB at 16 years old. He was sent ahead to Chase, BC to prepare and run the family farm until the rest of the family arrived. After moving on from the family farm, Dad and his twin brother Harold brought the first diesel logging truck to the BC interior. Over the years Dad owned Ironside Contracting, which was the local auto wrecker and scrap yard. He had many adventures over the years including gold mining, firewood cutting and many more to numerous to mention. He loved to tell stories and had many about his dog “Butch”.
Thank you to the wonderful loving staff at Piccadilly Terrace where Hugh was made to feel right at home the years he was there. We also send a heartfelt thank you to the Doctors, nurses and staff at Shuswap Lake General Hospital for their special care of our dad.
Dad’s ambition in life was to make people laugh. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Keep on scratching those lottery tickets. Love you dad!

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Linville Hugh Edwin 2022..
