Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Murvin Kenneth Baker: August 18, 1930 – April 26, 2022. He will be remembered and sadly missed by his wife, Shirley, whom he married 5 years ago, by his daughters Arlene (Paul) Villeneuve of Maple Ridge and Elaine (Harvey) Weeks of Creston. His 3 grandchildren, Richelle, Travis, and Clayton.
Predeceased by his father, Nelson Delbert, his mother, Edith Pearl, his sisters Pearl Marguarette, Bertha Marion and his brother MacSorley Nelson Delbert.
Murv was a lover of Canadian history and nature. When he was not reading history, he would often be found walking the KVR or panning for gold in the Similkameen.
He had a varied career. RCMP officer, Conservation officer, Director of Parks in Saskatchewan, Director of the Natural History Museum in Regina, and a Real Estate agent. Because of these different jobs he had a lot of stories to tell. He had even started writing down his children’s story of Grampa Whackam.
He touched many lives and will be missed by many.
