Cowan: John Christopher J.C. “Kit”
It is with tremendous sadness that we announce that the patriarch of our family, Kit Cowan has passed away. Chris was a graduate of Trinity College School, later attended University of Western Ontario and McMaster where he attained his MSc and P Eng in Geology. Kit literally travelled to every corner of the world and lived in South Africa, Australia, the Philippines and Mongolia.
Kit passed away peacefully after a brief illness, at his home, in Toronto, surrounded by family on Thursday April 28, 2022 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of the late Sally Tranter. Much loved father of Christopher ( Loretta), Dr. David Cowan (Karey), Stanley Tranter (Abby), Daniel Cowan, and Michael Cowan (Gail). Cherished grandfather of Oliver, Natasha, Kayla, Conley, Charlie, Ryan, Kayleigh, Bryce, Abigail, Keira, Jase, Ayla. Great grandfather of Odin. Dear brother of Dr. Brian Cowan (Maureen). A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday May 4th From 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at 10 Queens Quay West Condominium, in The Harbour party room. Parking is available across the street. In lieu of flowers donations made to the Covenant House would be appreciated by the family.
