She will be forever loved and missed by her daughter Carol and her son Dick ( Jackie) and their children Jason, Jeff, Jennifer and Patrick. She will also be missed by her great-grandchildren Alexa, Nixon, Brooklyn, Parker, Finn, Casey and Logan. Cicely was predeceased by her father Thomas, her mother Cicely, and her sisters Joan, Jean and Peggy. She was also predeceased by her first husband Dick Filgate in 1974 and her second husband Bob Truman in 2003. Cicely was born in a sod hut on a farm in Kandahar, Saskatchewan on February 27, 1928. She finished her grade 11 in Wynyard and then moved to Unity to work in the post office where she met Dick Filgate. They were later married in Kandahar in 1948. Dick was employed in the oil business which entailed many moves within Alberta and British Columbia as oil fields were discovered and developed. After Dick passed, Cicely moved to Innisfail to be close to her sister Peggy. In 1983 she met Bob Truman at a dance in Blackfalds and later married Bob in 1983. Bob and Cicely had a great relationship which included much travel and many good times with Bob’s family who have continued to see her over the years. Cicely will be remembered and loved by all she touched.
The Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church (5120-49 Ave, Ponoka) on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at noon. The Service will be followed by a Memorial Reception at the church.
