Obituary
Surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. She leaves behind her children, Bob (the late Saun – 2020) of Brantford, Linda Payne of Owen Sound, Alf (Fran) of Dornoch, Deb (Brian Albert) of Owen Sound, Darlene (Barry Smith) of East Linton, Corinne (Dave Teschke) of Southampton and Pam (Rob Keeling) of Georgian Bluffs. Also missed by 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and two great great grandsons. Stien was predeceased by her beloved husband Frank Nelson (2001), grandson Benjamin (1996), son-in-law Ted Kean (2016) and her brother Ewold (2021) and his wife Kay (2020). She was born October 31,1925 in Harem, Netherlands to Simon and Knelske (Horn) de Witt. She will be missed by her brother Willem (Catherine) and sister Styn (the late Fred Furness – 2015). Also missed by many extended family, Nelson, de Witt, and those in Holland.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held at the Leith Cemetery at 11:00am on Friday, May 6, 2022. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 6, 1450 2nd Ave West, Owen Sound from 1:00pm – 3:00pm. For everyone’s health and wellbeing, masks are recommended.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce – Chapman House Hospice or a Charity of Choice would be appreciated by the family.
