Fred A. McQuade
1944-2022
The death of Frederick “Fred” A. McQuade of Johnville
occurred on Monday, April 25, 2022 at his home. Born December 19, 1944
he was the son of the late Andrew and Margaret (Henry) McQuade. He was
also predeceased by his wife, Sheila; 5 siblings, Raymond, Terry,
Norman, John and Dorothy.
For those who knew Dad, I’m quite sure he would have made you smile,
his smile was contagious. He was quiet, but he thought a lot. He was
a simple guy, but he was so much more than meets the eye. He loved
his country music and making a full trucker’s breakfast before the sun
even came up. He was dedicated, hard-working, and dependable. He
loved nice cars and kept them spotless.
If you knew him in his earlier years, I’m sure you thought he was the
life of the party. I was his dance partner for many years for any
parties he would attend, and to keep up with him was a challenge!
He’s had a lot of careers, but trucking truly was in his blood. After
hanging up the trucking hat, he settled in with his career at AYR
Motor Express. If you were a driver, mechanic, or anyone coming into
the shop, I’m sure you learned something from him over his 26 years
there. If you see his hat hanging in the shop, give him a nod and a
wave. I’m sure he’ll be keeping an eye on things.
Fred is survived by his daughter, Cheryl – Ann Clark (Clayton Shears);
3 grandchildren, Taylor, Hannah and Hayden; 6 siblings, Richard
McQuade (Nancy), Charles McQuade (Barb), Marvin McQuade (Valerie),
Vernon McQuade, Monica McQuade and Gwenyth Estes as well as several
nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Directors, 207 Burnham Rd.
Florenceville-Bristol on Friday, April 29, 2022 from 3-5 pm. The
interment will be in the Johnville Cemetery at a later date. For those
who wish donations made to St. John the Evangelist, Johnville would be
appreciated by the family. www.gibersonfuneraldirectors.ca(506)
