Peacefully, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Sunday, April 24, 2022, Gysbert “Gil” Rauw passed away at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Eunice for 58 years. Proud and loving father of Evelyn Silva and her husband Joe of Strathroy and Peter Rauw of Tillsonburg. Cherished grandfather of Brandon, Tyler (Lauren), Dakota and Curtis. Dear brother of Maria “Ria”Jansen and Bertha VandeGoor (Jordan) both of Norwich. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents William and Everdina (Ryksen) Rauw and his brother-in-law John Jansen. A much loved quiet Rock of Support to his family. Gil was a truck driver for 32 years and a prominent member of First Baptist Church in Tillsonburg.
Friends and relatives will be received by the Rauw family at First Baptist Church, 18 Harvest Ave., Tillsonburg on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. The Funeral Service for Gil will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Steve Amorin officiating. Interment will be held at the Springford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to First Baptist Church Building Fund would be appreciated and can be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) Personal condolences and memories can be shared at www.ostrandersfuneralhome.com
