Obituary of Bruce Brown
Remembering Bruce are his wife of 18 years Mary Lyn, son Rob (Patsy), daughter Kathy (Ross), grandchildren Mark (Hannah), Renee, Jessica, and Josh. Predeceased by his wife of 34 years, Norma (2000).
Bruce was a long-time employee of Bell Canada and while he loved the company, he was defined by his family, hobbies, and his interests. He loved golf, hockey (go Habs!), and baseball. As he got older, he flipped from playing to umpiring – and really enjoyed the enthusiasm, energy, and chatter in the youth games.
And puzzles! Crosswords and Sudokus and Cryptics oh my! And reading the dictionary (almost impossible to find a word he didn’t know).
He was a long time Mason (St. Andrew’s 593), Archmason (Hiram Chapter), and the American counterpart to St. Andrews Lodge. He will really miss these guys.
His music tastes were varied (but not necessarily modernized), ranging from Gerry Rafferty to Bob Seger, CCR, Pink Floyd… – playing them at full volume in the car.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Feel good about helping to eliminate this damned disease while also taking a tax deduction!
Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Friday, April 29, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca
