It is with great sadness that the family of Arthur Edward Hannaford, 82, of Bridgewater announces his passing at the QE II, Health Science Centre, Halifax on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.
Born in Halifax, Art was the son of the late Arthur and Frances (Shanks) Hannaford.
In his earlier years Art served as a Leading Seaman with the Reserve Navy and then was employed for over 30 years with MT & T and then drove Motor Coach until his permanent retirement.
Art is survived by his spouse, Betty Allen, daughter, Heather (Phillip) Collicutt, East Chester, son, Arthur Hannaford (Dawn Kirkbride) Hartland, NB; Mary Elizabeth Hannaford, mother to his children; brother, Francis Hannaford, Chezzetcook; grandchildren, Benjamin and Thomas and their mother Cindy Hannaford, Chester Basin; Betty’s family, Lianne (Keith) Lohnes, Denton (Jessica) and Lukah; Neil (Lisa) Allen, Brandon and Bailee as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Vincent; brothers, Harold and Peter.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. A graveside committal service will be held at a later date at Oakridge Memorial Gardens, Sackville.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Lunenburg County VON.
