Dan was born on November 18,1940 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and passed away on April 17, 2022 in Trail, BC with his family by his side.
He was predeceased by his parents Russell & Mary and his sister Patsy. Dan is survived by his wife Kerry and his four children; Wendy (Howard) Shawn (Linda) Maureen (Mike) Wayne (Adrienne), nine grandchildren; Dylan (Aynsley) Kelsie, Ali, Tanner, Dustin, Mitchell, Danny, Darian and Kaylin, his sister Colleen O’Connor and his fuzzy companions Gunner, Tasha, Willie, and Darby.
Dan joined the Navy in 1958. He spent five years in service. While in the Navy he won the golden glove trophy for boxing. While on leave from the Navy he met the love of his life Kerry in 1962 and they were married on Sept. 5, 1964. This year would have been their 58th wedding anniversary.
Dan loved watching all sports, but he took great pride in watching his son Shawn play baseball in the World Series in Williams Port, Pennsylvania and also his grandchildren playing ball at the parks. He was an avid fisherman spending many days at Kootenay Lake and Arrow Lake, and teaching everyone who wanted to learn everything about fishing. Later in years he loved to sit outside and look at his yard and watch thunder and lightening storms from his patio. He was a man of few words, but his heart was soft and big. We will all miss him deeply.
We would like to give the biggest thank you to the renal unit for taking wonderful care of him the last 8 years. Also, to all the doctors and nurses on the 3rd floor of KBRH that took such good care of him and showed our family the greatest compassion. Also, to Cindy McLean who Dan lovingly named Mighty Mouse thank you for taking such good care of Dan the last year. You are an angel that walks on earth.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with the arrangements.

because one day soon we will all be together again.
