Obituary
The family of Jim is saddened to announce his passing on April 18, 2022 at High River Hospital at age 78.
He is survived by his son Tim (Carmen), his two grandsons Morgan and Parker, his brother Bill (Lois) Hodges and his faihful companion Pal.
Jim was born in Sacramento, California, raised in Santa Maria, California. He met his wife Meredith while attending the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana. They were married in January of 1966 while Jim was in the US Army. Their son Tim was born later that year. The family moved to Canada in 1970, finally settling in Inuvik, NT in 1973. While Jim was in the Army he trained as a helicopter pilot and and he never worked a day in his life after that doing anything else. Being a pilot became his lifelong career and he earned over 15000 accident free hours flying before his retirement in 1995. Jim and Meredith retired to Southern Alberta to be closer to family and eventually found themselves in High River, Alberta. Jim lost the love of his life in 2016 to cancer when Meredith passed away. Jim travelled after that seeking the sun with his companions Patch and Pal. A highlight of his life was scuba diving with his grandsons in Hawaii in 2019.
Thank you to all the staff of on the third floor of the High River Hospital for the excellent care they gave both Jim and his family.
