Bond, Dorothy Catherine
(Armsworthy)
Age 88 of Antigonish and Phillips Harbour, Guysborough County
passed away at St. Martha’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit on
April 13, 2022 with her loving family by her side. Born in
Philips Harbour, Guysborough County on February 25, 1934 she was one
of five children born to the late Harry and Josephine (Jamieson)
Armsworthy.
Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother,
sister, aunt and friend.
She is survived by her loving sons Gary (Queenie), Kingston,
NS, Alan (Glenda), Antigonish, Mark (Lorraine), Antigonish, 10
grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, sisters, Anne (John) Calder,
St. Peter’s, Eileen (Howard) George, Phillips Harbour and
Ruth Meeds, Halifax, and several nieces and nephews. She was
predeceased by her husband Garland, daughter Heather Cameron and
brother Ray.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic
Church, Queensport. She was a homemaker all her
life. She loved to play cards, listen to country music, was
an avid reader, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her
family. Dorothy looked forward to her daily visits from her
great friends and neighbors who were always so kind and generous to
her.
There will be no visitation as per her wishes.
Cremation has taken place. A funeral mass
celebrating Dorothy’s life will be held on Wednesday, April
20 at 11 am at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church in Queensport
with Father Callistus Abazie officiating. Burial will follow
in St. Vincent de Paul cemetery. Family flowers
only. Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul
