With great sadness, our family announces the passing of our much loved Husband, Father, Gong Gong, Brother, and Uncle.
Mike had a hard-fought battle with kidney disease for over 40 years. Mike was a lifelong learner and pursued his goals in life with many great accomplishments. Mike came to Canada at the age of 18 to pursue an education. With hard work and focus, he was able to apply for all of his family to come to Canada, and he was successful.
Mike owned and operated numerous pharmacies in and around Edmonton. His latest was over 20 years in Beaumont, where he developed many lifelong friendships and he was so proud to be a part of that community.
One of Mike’s true loves was to spend time with family. We had many barbeques, birthdays, and holidays together and he always enjoyed the laughs and memories.
He will be sadly missed by family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, and his health care providers.
He is predeceased by his parents Wong Man Chiu and Wong Fung Chee Chan.
He is survived by his wife Laura; four children Katie, David, Jacqui (Tristan), Kevin; two grandsons Bryson and Jagger; his nine siblings Lee Sau Kuen(Siu Kee), Wong Shing, Chan Tina (Calvin), Wong Francis (Phuong), Wong Brad (Van), Wong Gary (Lisa), Wong Rennie (Jennifer), Wong Brendan (Megan), Wong Bernie; many loved nieces and nephews; Chan Yuet Lin, Wong Shao Bing (Johnny); two aunties and cousins in China; and Mui Fong.
Funeral service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home – Downtown Chapel, 10011-114ST NW, Edmonton, AB
