Zubick, Bruce David
April 5th, 2021
On April 5, 2021 our family lost a very precious man. With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Bruce David Zubick, in his 68th year. After a short but hard-fought battle with cancer, Bruce passed away peacefully at Parkwood Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. He was a man of faith.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Barbara and his children Tammy Hedges (Shawn), Benjamin Zubick (Mary Jane), Sarah Thompson (Jeff), and Krista Zubick. His grandchildren, Cooper, Lauryn, Seth, Faith, Caleb, Zachary, Ayden, Jacob and William will forever miss their “Pappy”.
He was a loving brother to his siblings, Doris England, Ruth Besterd (Norm), Nancy Orosz (Andy), George Zubick (Jill), & Kathy Squires. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Steve Craig (Sharon), and will be greatly missed by his dear sister-in-law Lorna Collins (Wayne). He was a fun Uncle (Boo-Boo) to many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, John and Elaine Zubick, his sister Karen Semenuk, and his grandson Ethan Zubick.
Bruce was many things, but first and foremost a loving and devoted family man. His family meant everything to him. Whether it was Sunday dinners, vacations, parties, or card games, Bruce’s mischievous qualities always made things more fun.
He was co-owner and operator of John Zubick Scrap Metals Ltd, the London based family business started by his father and mother in 1946. Bruce was well-respected by his employees, colleagues and business associates alike. His care and concern for others was demonstrated through his philanthropic support of various organizations. Samantha & Brad TurnerDear DadZ,
I will never be able to thank you and Momz for the influence you both had on my life growing up. You were both my second parents. I’m heart broken that dadz has passed. Thank you for the endless love you both gave to me. I will cherish my memories of Mr. Zubick, from a bear story that peed on my arm, to convincing me the sun rose and set on the same side in Mexico, make belief shark nets, eels, aliens, endless jokes, trumpets playing at dawn before church, and so much love. How fortunate am I to have been part of this loving family? I will carry these memories with me for life. MomZ, Tam, Ben, Sarah and Kris and your own families I am thinking of you and mourning your loss. Please know that I carry you all in my heart.

Howard ShermanBruce did have a great sense of humor and a good way about him. His smile was infectious. But there was much more to him. The whole Zubick clan carries a very special legacy. One started by his parents. They stood for loyalty, responsibility, and respect of one’s fellow man. Bruce lived up to all of those virtues. To his wife, you should be very proud of all that you and Bruce accomplished. May he now rest in the peace he so justly deserves.
Don OrrSo very sorry to hear of Bruce’s passing. Deep condolences to the whole family.
