Zaida Mary Rankin (Wheable) of Sarnia, ON

Predeceased by her loving husband of 46 years, Robert W. Rankin (of North Bay, ON). Also predeceased by her loving parents Geoffrey A. & Helen Wheable (of London, ON) and three older siblings. Zaida was a former psychometrist for the Lambton County Board of Education and has been a long time member of Grace United Church since arriving in Sarnia in 1962. Through her work with the church & the University Women’s Club, Zaida farmed many strong friendships and made a real difference in her community. Zaida leaves behind 2 daughters: Catharine Helen Rankin (Robert Fullerton) of Vancouver, B.C. and Patricia Mary Palmer (Mark Palmer) of Sarnia, ON, and 2 grandsons: Daniel Robert Palmer (Melissa Palmer) of Lucan, ON. and James Kenneth Palmer (Billy-Jean Whiting) of Sarnia, ON., and one great-grandson Ewan Cameron Palmer of Lucan, ON. As well as family, Zaida will be deeply missed by many long lasting friends including her dearest friend of 90 years, Elaine Hagarty of London, ON. Her loss will be profoundly felt by many. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Canadian Cancer Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
