Yvonne Gwendolyn Fleming
January 5, 1924, to September 13, 2021
Yvonne, known as Buttercup, Mom, Grandma and Grammy, in her 98th year passed peacefully at Elgin Manor Nursing Home in St. Thomas, Ontario. Yvonne was born in Ingersoll as one of nine children of Margaret and Melbourne Bartindale. She was raised on a farm in Banner, Ontario, went to business college and worked as a bookkeeper in Sarnia where she met her husband, George. They raised their children together in the Sudbury area and will be deeply missed by David (Elaine) Fleming, Ron (Kim) Fleming and Cathie (Bill) Sischek. She will also be missed by 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Yvonne will be remembered as a resourceful, hardworking, loving mother and grandmother, who always took a keen interest in her family’s lives.
Friends may visit at the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Road, South, Lambeth, 519-652-2020 on Sunday, September 19, 2021, from 1-3 pm where the Private Celebration of Yvonne’s life will follow at 3:00 pm. with Reverend Diane Macpherson celebrating. Cremation to follow with interment Banner, Ontario at a later date. Donations to Elgin Manor Nursing Home, 39262 Fingal Line, St. Thomas, ON N5P 3S5.gratefully acknowledged.
