Yvonne’s Obituary
Yvonne Marie Maillet (née Comeau), passed away Wednesday, July 14 2021 in La Villa Acadienne, Meteghan. Born on the family farm in St. Martin-de-Clare on August 17, 1937, she was predeceased by her parents, Vincent and Adèle (Robichaud) Comeau; step-mother, Rosalie Maillet; brother, Alfred; great grandchildren, Grace and Léo, both in infancy. Yvonne’s love of her life was her late husband of 53 years, Benoit.
She is survived by children, Alfred (Phyllis Chandler), Donald (Anice Stuart), Normand (Janet Boudreau), Adèle (Donald LeBlanc), Earl (Cindy Deveau) and Charles “Chuck” (Jennifer Kelly); Grand-Mère to grand-kids, Marc, Jason, Gary, Jessie, Josanne, Marielle, Sana, Anik, and great-grandson, Jaxson.
Mame was an avid volunteer in her community, helping out with her church and other groups. She was a proud Acadian who was fond of gardening, animals, playing cards, travelling, CIFA bingo, going to the camp to “hang out with the in crowd” and above all else, her family.
Due to the current Covid-19 provincial restrictions, a family graveside memorial service under the care of Meteghan Funeral home will be held in her memory.
The family would like to thank both long-term care facilities, Au Logis d’Meteghan and La Villa Acadienne, for the excellent care given to Yvonne.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to La Villa Acadienne Foundation.
