1942-2021
Winston A. Stairs of Temperance Vale, NB passed away peacefully on
January 3, 2021 surrounded by his family, at his sister’s home.
Winston was born on October 21, 1942 at Temperance Vale, NB, a son of
the late Hollie and Katherine (Grant) Stairs.
Winston is survived by his sons Robert (Liz) and Kenneth (Pam); four
grandchildren Scott, Bill, Sam (Dan) and Melissa; a great
granddaughter, Addilyn; his siblings, Linda Christie (Ed), Joan
Bradley (Garnet), Connie Billings (Adrian), Gayla Killam (Lee) and
Ryan Stairs; a brother-in-law, Brian Knowles; an aunt Edith Fawcett.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Lloyd
Stairs and a sister, Maritta Knowles.
He will be dearly missed by so many nieces and nephews of many
generations, that it’s not possible to mention all their names.
The Davidson Lake Community has lost its Honorary Mayor. Winston will
be missed by family and friends across the country who have had the
honor to share stories, laughter, music and adventures with him.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis
Drive, Nackawic, NB on Wednesday, January 6, 2020 from 12 noon until 2
pm with social distancing respected. The funeral service will follow
at 2 pm (by invitation only due to COVID 19) in the funeral home
chapel with Rev. Steve Ranni officiating. Interment will be later at
Temperance Vale Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Winston, the family
has suggested the Temperance Vale Cemetery.
