Winifred May Cox Monday December 6th 2021

Winifred (Winnie) Cox
Our beloved mom passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at the age of 91. Mom was married to our dad, Donnie (Papa), the love of her life for 68 years (predeceased in 2017). Mom missed him, and his incredible sense of humour immensely every single day, and we are happy she is now finally with him again. Her passing is a huge loss for her children, Susan (Tom), Lori (Kevin), Gary (Cheryl), Lisa (Norbert); she was an adored Nannie to Heather, Jason, Bryanna, Bronson, Alysia, Hayden, Brody and Mitchell; and a sweet great Nannie to Lawson, Lake, Lennon, Nora, and Layla.
Mom immigrated to Canada from Middlesbrough, England in 1949, settling in Brantford, ON, where she met her wonderful Donnie. Our mom was a sweet, kind soul who will be greatly missed by her many nephews, nieces, and extended family and friends. Mom was a great cook and we all coveted her Sunday roast beef dinner with her famous Yorkshire pudding at our family home. We loved her very much; we will all miss her greatly and will keep her spirit alive in the many stories we tell her grandchildren and great grandchildren. We can hear her now, “eee Donnie” and “I’m British, I made it through the war, I can make it through anything”. And did she ever!
Our sincerest thanks go out to the incredible team at Westmount LTC. Cremation has taken place and a private family ceremony will be held later this month. In lieu of flowers, donations in Winnie’s memory can be arranged with Hospice of Waterloo Region (Cards available at the funeral home). Arrangements entrusted to Henry Walser Funeral Home (519-749-8467).
