Wilma May Stone
It is with sadness, relief and grateful hearts, that we share the passing of Wilma May Stone, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Wilma was born on May 29, 1924 in Jarrow, Alberta to parents, Rodger and Blanche Wahlund, the second youngest of six children. She passed away peacefully in Wetaskiwin on October 31, 2021 at the age of 97 years.
Remembering her with love are her sons Glen (Donna) and Neil (Joan); five grandchildren – James (Tracy), Ric, Michelle (Scott), Nathan (Lynn) and Darren (Beth), and five great-grandchildren – Jonah, Macy, Brock, Bode and Quintin. She will also be remembered by her son-in-law, Dan (Carmen), her granddaughter’s husband Evan, several step-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Wilma was predeceased by her husband, Edward; her daughter Carol; and her granddaughter Nicol. She was the last surviving member of the six Wahlund children and their spouses, and the Stone in-laws and their spouses.
Donations in Wilma’s memory are gratefully accepted to S.T.A.R.S. (Suite 100, 1519 – 35 Avenue East, Edmonton International Airport, T9E 0V6), Wetaskiwin Health Foundation Palliative Care Unit (6910 – 47 Street, Wetaskiwin, AB T9A 3N3), or to the charity of one’s choice.
Due to current restrictions, a private memorial service will be held.
