Obituary of William Herbert Moors
Age 92, of Windsor, formerly of MacKay Section, passed away peacefully, Monday, May 24, 2021 in Haliburton Place, Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Ashdale, Hants Co., he was a son of the late Donald and Laura (MacDonald) Moors. Bill is survived by his half siblings, Wanda Walsh, Cathy Moors, Patrick Dobson and Donald Moors Jr.
In his youth, Bill was a lumberjack in British Columbia. After returning to Nova Scotia he worked as a carpenter, heavy equipment operator and a sawyer at Hefflers Mill. He spent three summers on the Northern most tip of Baffin Island, N.W.T. constructing runways. He became a heavy equipment instructor and worked in New Brunswick and Ontario.
Bill is survived by his children, Karen Moors, Anna Marie (John) Crossley, Linda (Chris) Hazel, Darrell (Cindy), Lorrie (Kelly) and Jordan Moors; 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife the former Irene Harvie (2014); daughter, Terry Graham; sisters, Florence, Daisy and Colleen Moors and brother, Ivan Moors.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). Service and burial details will be announced at a later date once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia (902-422-7961).
