William “Willie” Pirie
1934-2021
With his loving wife by his side, William “Willie” Pirie of
Gladwyn, NB, passed away peacefully at his home on March 5, 2021.
Willie was born in South Tilley, NB, on August 2, 1934. He was the son
of the late Hubert and Mildred (Griffin) Pirie. Willie leaves behind
his wife, Maxine Pirie (Finnamore); his sister, Vivian Bolstridge of
Perth-Andover, NB; his brother, Frank Pirie (Geneva) of Gladwyn, NB;
his mother-in-law, Marion Gallant of Fredericton, NB; his sisters and
brothers-in-law, Rosalie Pirie of South Tilley, NB, Stephen Finnamore
(Janice) of Blackville, NB, Stewart Finnamore (Jeannette) of
Fredericton, NB, Mary Jean Spencer (Joe) of Fredericton, NB, Leslie
Finnamore (Beryl) of Fredericton, NB, Allan Finnamore (Penny) of
Fredericton, NB, and Bruce Finnamore (Sharon) of Fredericton, NB;
along with many nieces and nephews.
Willie was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Jack Pirie; his
brother-in-law, Angus “Bun” Bolstridge.
Resting at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church with visitation on
Monday from 12-2 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 8,
2021 at 2 pm from St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church. Father
Gilbert Doddatto celebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery
at a later date.
Covid-19 restrictions must be respected during the visitation and
funeral service.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the Southern Victoria Cancer
Assistance Fund or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by
the family.
Maxine would like to express her heartfelt gratitude to Dr. David
Bell, the Extra-Mural nurses, Willie’s caregivers, and Rosalie Pirie
for the excellent care they gave Willie over the years. She would also
like to send a special thank you to her best friend, Lorraine Baker,
for always being by her side.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover, NB.
