William Richard Bill Palmer Monday May 17th 2021

Dr. William Richard Thomas (Bill) Palmer left us with broken hearts on May 17, age 81. Loving husband of Liana, and adored father of Terry Lee, William McGregor (Greg & Patti) and Gordon Bradley (Brad). Proud grandfather to Jessica Amanda Sue Palmer and Austin McGregor Palmer. Great grand-father to Zoey Teresa Lavigne Palmer. He will be sadly missed by his sister Jo Alix Cowan (John) and his brother Peter Gordon Palmer (Dorothy). Bill was pre-deceased by sister Doreen (Jenji). Fondly remembered by Teresa Palmer, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and Liana’s extended family.
Bill was a prison psychologist and truly enjoyed that calling. Following retirement, he volunteered with Fourcast and Big Brothers/Sisters. Among his many interests were golf, travel, F-1 racing, and jack-of-all-trades at home. He took great pride in attaining his PhD after many interruptions. He was also a devoted friend to many 4-legged companions over the years. Above all else, Bill treasured his family, and took great pleasure in hosting reunions and get-togethers with them at the family home in Brighton. Bill was proud of his Irish heritage, and was one of a kind. Truly, “I did it my way.”
No service is planned. A family gathering celebrating Bill will happen in the future. If desired, donations may be made in his memory to any animal welfare organization.
