William Patrick Billy Bowman Sunday July 11th 2021

Bowman, William Patrick
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Patrick “Billy” Bowman in his 89th year, peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 11, 2021 with his partner Sherri Bergman at his side. Survived by his sisters Pearl Martindale and Eileen (Jack) Boyd and his sister-in-law, Eileen Bowman, daughter Lynn (Bob) Stevens and son Kenny Bowman, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his granddaughter, Jessica Bowman, his loving partner of 19 years, Sherri and family, Jocelyn and Ruby Boates, Kerstin, Mark, Nora and Waylen Genereaux, and his many nieces and nephews who all supported and shared time with him in his palliative days. Predeceased by his brother, Jim Bowman and brother-in-law, Frank Martindale. He will be missed by his camp family, his Consecon friends, his card playing friends and his pool hall buddies. Billy owned and operated Billy Bowman’s Camp in Consecon for 40 years. He was an avid sailor, card shark and the “grand poobah” of pool. Billy loved to dance and play music with family and friends as long as he was able. Many thanks to the VON SMILE Program, the South East LHIN, Dr. Holton, Dr. Horan, KGH Cancer Centre, Dr. Moore and the palliative care nurses from Bayshore, the PSWs from Care Partners and all the other support and respite workers who helped make Billy’s final days comfortable. Thank you to friends and family who were all so generous with meals, emotional support and visits. Billy was a colourful character who will be missed by all he knew. Donations can be made to the KGH Cancer Centre or to a charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place at Quinte Cremation and Burial Services. A celebration of Billy’s life will be planned in the near future. Online condolences can be made at www.quintecremationservices.com

  3. Billy was a warm and wonderful friend who helped us so much when we first bought our farm 40 years ago. Always a welcoming and generous host, he brought humour and ‘Billyisms’ to every situation and greeted new ideas with an open and curious mind. He was stoic and upbeat to the end and we are so grateful that he had a beautiful soul like Sherri in his life. Condolences to all who loved him.
