PEITZSCHE Jr., William Leander
“Junior” – Age 70, Little Dover,
Guysborough Co., passed away peacefully with his loving family by his
side on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, in the Victoria General Hospital,
Halifax. Born in Canso, he was the son of the late William Leander Sr.
and Hellen (Gallagher) Peitzsche.
Junior was store manager at the Little Dover Co-op, before
moving onto management at Seafreeze Foods in Canso for the bulk of his
career. He loved spending time at his hunting camp, watching sports,
staying at his camper at Scotia Pine Campground and being with his
family, especially his two grandsons.
Junior is survived by his wife, Janet; his children, Judy and
Gary (Kim); grandsons, William and Lee; siblings, Elaine (Art) and
Ronnie. He was predeceased by his son, Stephen “Stevie”;
siblings, Cary, Tony, Terry; sisters-in-law, Veronica and
Marie.
All COVID-19 restrictions and protocols will be
in place for the visitation and for the funeral mass. Face masks or
face coverings must be worn for both and social distancing measures
will be in place.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, March 14 in
Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 121 School St., Canso. Funeral Mass
will take place 11 a.m. Monday, March 15, from St. Agnes Roman
Catholic Church, Little Dover with Father Jonathan Nnajifor
officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations can be
made to Black Duck Cove Day Use Park. Words of comfort may be
