William Bill Edwards Monday May 31st 2021

EDWARDS, William Victor
October 15, 1924- May, 31, 2021
Bill died peacefully at St. Joseph’s at Fleming at the age of 96. He grew up in Belleville and worked for CN Rail before joining the Air Force. He returned to Belleville after the war until 1948 when he married Norma and was transferred to Peterborough. After accepting a job offer from Outboard Marine Corporation, Bill spent the next 35 years with OMC until his retirement in 1986. He then became an avid curler and golfer at Kawartha Golf and Country Club and Baxter Creek. Bill and Norma then enjoyed many great trips with close friends. Having moved to Summit Terrace in 2014, recent years added new friends and social activities. Beloved husband of Norma (nee. Maker) for 72 years. Loving father of Susan and Bill (Chris). Proud Grandfather of Jaime (Stephen) and Brian; Great-Grandfather to Kailee, Emma, and Hunter. Survived by sister Jean (Ron) and brother Bruce (Shirley). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held. The family is grateful to the staff of Summit Terrace and St. Joseph’s at Fleming for their kindness and support. If desired, donations in memory of Bill can be made to St. Joseph’s at Fleming or the Peterborough Humane Society through the funeral home or online. Condolences to the family can be made through the funeral home. www.AshburnhamFuneral.ca.
