HANRATH, Willem Jozef
Willem Jozef Hanrath passed away peacefully with family present on May 17, 2021 in his 88th year. He is survived by his wife, Thea, and brother, Frans (Paula, d.). Predeceased by Pete, Hein (Ann), Maria-Zus Oomens (Jos), Otye, Joep, Tres, Tom (Rosemary). Loving father of Matt (Mary), Case (Eileen), Joe (Patti), Louise Charlebois (d.) (Ray), Willem Jr. (Marie, d.), Kitty Milo (Shaun), Tom (Cindy). Proud Opa to Chantel, Dean, Zach, Shannon (Brian), Ryan (Ashley), Samantha, Lucas, Josh (Anna), Kateri (Andrew), Tyler (Rebecca), Kayley (Max), Ian, Jacob (Jocelyn), Alicia (Grant), Ethan, Isaiah, Taylor (Brittany), Cody (Ashley), Brandon (Mikaela), Lacey, Allyson, Nathaniel, Calvin (Isra), Colleen (Stephan), and to great grandchildren, Jack, Josalyn, Wentz, Kiera, Cohen, Addalie, Aaden, Alice, Avery, Dimitri, Elijah, (and, one on the way). Willem and his wife (Thea), were married for 63 years, raised seven children of their own and opened their home, and hearts, to numerous foster children. Willem spent his teenage years as a Sea Scout and Pilot in Holland before marrying and coming to Canada. He was an evergreen landscaper by trade and an avid gardener by heart, caring for God’s creation. Willem had many outdoor passions from bird watching, to tending to trees and fighting off swarms of Gypsy moths. He was blessed to receive all his last sacraments and passed knowing that this is not the end.
