Willa Rae Overholt (nee Tilley) of Welwyn, Saskatchewan beloved wife of the late Donald Overholt passed away at SEICC – Long Term Care, Moosomin Friday, June 25, 2021 at the age of 83 years.
A Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
For those who so desire, memorial tributes may be made to SPCA – Saskatchewan or to a charity of your choice in memory of Willa.
Willa Rae was born on August 26, 1937 to Bill and Agnes Tilley. She was born on the J. Nicolson farm in the McAuley area where her father was employed. She grew up in Welwyn and attended Welwyn School. She also attended Manitoba Commercial College and became a stenographer. While she was in Winnipeg she lived with her Aunt Evelyn and Uncle Ab Nuels. She worked in various places in Manitoba, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
On February 1, 1957, she married the love of her life Donald Alton Overholt in Calgary. In 1964 they moved back to Welwyn and purchased the Lamont house where she lived up until December 30, 2020.
Willa worked at Rocanville Co-op for many years and also Welwyn TD bank. Willa loved working with Tilley’s Auction Sales, meeting and greeting the public and being the best cashier ever. She loved working with numbers and was never a penny out.
Willa and Don loved their pets and enjoyed travelling. They did a lot of camping and golfing.
Willa was predeceased by her parents Bill and Agnes, her beloved husband Donald and brother-in-law Jack Frazer. Mourning her passing are her sister Dawna Frazer and her children Bonnie Ann and Darrel and their families. Her brother Terry Tilley and his wife Bernadette and their children, Bill Tilley and his children Hayden, Isabelle, and Bodie Alton, Erin Bolton and her husband Lloyd and their children Tate and Tess, John Tilley and his wife Jamie and their daughters Bronwyn and Lauryn. Jill McGonigal and her husband Justin and their children Sully and Rae.
Willa was one of a kind, a very strong independent woman. She will be missed by her family and her community of Welwyn where she was a big contributor. She loved Welwyn and the Rec Centre (the Belles and Beaus) where she was a volunteer going above and beyond doing books and serving coffee and anything else that was needed.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
