It is with heavy hearts that the Grohal family announce the sudden passing of their beloved husband, adored father and Opa, Wilhelm Grohal on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital..
Dad immigrated to Canada in 1955 for a better life and soon met his forever love, Elfriede. Together they crafted a life based on hard work and old fashioned family values. Our father and mother worked tirelessly to ensure that we all could enjoy a life rich with love, cherished memories and endless opportunities.
Our fondest memories of Dad include his favourite form of therapy: watering his cedar hedge and nurturing the flora and fauna on his country property in Brampton. Long days at work often ended in forays into the trees (prompting Mum to purchase a ranch dinner bell to rein him in for supper). Dad put his heart and soul into everything he did which included building his company Grohal Construction. One of his earlier passions was to develop a community in the town of Everett.
Dad was first and foremost a family man. He was also innovative, creative and generous to a fault. If anyone asked his help Dad would always step up to do whatever was in his power to lend a hand.
Willi leaves behind to mourn his wife of 62 years Elfriede (Baier), his daughter Heidi (Stephen), his son Andrew (Anne) and his 4 grandchildren: Christopher (Katrina), Patrick, Julie and Samantha.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Wednesday, September 15 from noon until time of memorial service in the chapel at 2 o’clock. Please click the link to register a time
