With great sadness, the Piercey family shares the loss of beloved wife and mother Wendy. She passed peacefully at home on December 17th at 4:29 pm, surrounded by those who loved her most. Survived by darling husband of almost 35 years, Craig, adoring daughters Nicole and Emily, and doting pets Jesse and Mia. Dear daughter of the late Leonard and Patricia Williams, sister of Fred (Chris), Greg (late Irene) and Carolyn (Dave). Three nieces, Tricia (Harry), Abigail (Fernando) and Heather (Myke). Three nephews, Brandon (Mi Kyeong) and the late Sean and Tony. Great nieces Avery and Kailah, great nephews Gabriel and Jude.
Wendy was diagnosed with metastatic bone cancer on May 3rd 2021, after 4 years of remission from breast cancer. She never let either diagnosis affect her positive attitude and love for life. Beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, great-aunt, friend and mentor, Wendy touched many lives with her kind and warm spirit. Wendy was a retired lifelong employee of Environment Canada where she dedicated her career to supporting her peers. A late-blooming artist, she found great joy in painting after her retirement. Wendy was also a lifelong animal lover, gardener and enjoyed long walks in the forest with her loved ones. The family would like to thank her oncology, radiation, and palliative care teams for their support from her diagnosis on May 3rd through to the end on December 17th.
Wendy was caring, courageous and thoughtful. She will be missed more than words can say.
A private Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday December 30th. This Celebration will be by invitation only, however if you wish to view the livestream, a link will become available closer to the date.
