After a brief illness, Wendell passed away peacefully at home on January 3, 2021. He loved his wife Helen, his children and grandchildren and took great pride in everything they did. His favourite spot was the woods – riding his ATV as he worked on his woodlot, fishing brook trout and hunting partridge in his native province of New Brunswick. He was a skilled sporting clays shooter and had many friends at clubs here and in the United States. Prior to moving to Burgesswood near Perth, Ontario, Wendell and Helen lived in Ancaster, Ontario for 42 years while Wendell worked at Stelco in Hamilton. He spent time every year in his beloved New Brunswick, usually on the beautiful Tobique River at the cottage he and Helen built. They sometimes travelled in winter to visit warm places but mainly just loved being at home. Those close to him were fortunate to share many lively lobster dinners and hear one of his old time piano sessions. Visiting with family, hosting extended ‘happy hours’ discussing sports and politics and telling colourful stories of the early days were the things that brought Wendell joy. We will miss his astute perspective and his sharp wit. In remembrance of Wendell contributions to your local animal shelter or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Wendell
