Weldon Lawrence Walsh of Whitney, NB, husband of the late Rita (Richard) Walsh passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at the age of 92. Born in Newcastle, NB, the son of the late Elmer and Bertha (Waye) Walsh.
Weldon was retired form Sunny Corner Mechanical. He was a past member of Father Dixon Council, Knights of Columbus.
Weldon is survived by daughters: Rhoda Keating (Jack) of Whitney, NB, Brenda Walsh Matchett (Gisele) of Chatham, NB and Bertha Taylor (Johnny) of Sillikers, NB; sons: Lornie (Cathy), of Trout Brook, NB, Clayton of Whitney, NB and Arthur (Chad) of Halifax, NS, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Weldon comes from a large family of seventeen that all predeceased him with one surviving sister, Phyllis.
He is also predeceased by two sons: Paul and Elmer.
At Weldon’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside interment will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, in Weldon’s memory, donations may be made to Regional Diabetes Program – Miramichi, NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one’s choice. Messages of condolence for the family can be sent through the funeral home website at www.bellsmeadows.com
The family would like to express gratitude to Dr. Gerard Losier, nurses and staff of 4 East and 2 West for the exceptional care they gave dad.
