Triano, Wayne Joseph 1943 -2021
It is with profound sorrow that the Triano family announce the passing of Wayne Joseph Triano on April 29, 2021 at 77 years of age. Following a lengthy battle with Lewy Body Dementia, Wayne passed peacefully surrounded by his family at Royal Rose Place in Welland Ontario. He will be forever missed by his high school sweetheart and wife of 56 years Elizabeth (nee Liebhart), his loving children Martin (Janice) and Kara (Jeff), his 5 precious grandsons Parker, Connor, Cooper, Merek and Griffin, brother Barry (Shirley) Triano and his sister Melanie (Ron) Wiggins. Wayne was predeceased by his parents Muj and Jennie Triano of Fonthill and his daughter Leane.
Born in Welland and later moving to Fonthill, Wayne worked at Atlas Steele and then Niagara College where he taught accounting for 30 years. After his retirement from Niagara College, Wayne took on a second career as a financial planner. Wayne enjoyed his retirement years and with Liz by his side, they travelled the world with their dear friends. Wayne had a lifelong passion for hockey and golf. He was a proud member and champion at Lookout Point Golf Course for 58 years.
Wayne was most proud of his 5 grandsons and all they have accomplished. They brought him endless joy and he spent countless hours teaching them the game of golf, watching them play hockey and telling stories. Wayne was forever a family man and leaves behind a legacy that we will treasure always.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Royal Rose for their excellent care and compassion. A private visitation and service will be held for close friends.
