Death announcement
CHALMERS, Wayne Gordon
With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Wayne Chalmers, at his happy place, his beloved Springhill Farms’ greenhouse, in Trout Creek, on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. He was 61 years old. Wayne was predeceased by his parents Patricia (Dixon) and Ross Chalmers. He was the much-loved husband of Patti (Davis) of Trout Creek; father of Shawn Chalmers (Nadia) of North Bay, Chance Chalmers (Shannon) of Toronto, Jadie Collinassi (Sarah) of Callander, Shayne Collinassi (Haili) of Callander and Ethan Chalmers of Trout Creek; and grandfather of Draven, Lillian, Aria, Norah and Everett. Wayne was the dear brother of Paul Chalmers (Mimi) of Cambridge and Brenda Rogers of Palmerston. Wayne was the much-loved son-in-law of Dan and Paulette Davis of Callander and will be fondly remembered by many family and friends. Wayne was well known in the area as the co-owner of Springhill Farms, and an admired vendor and board member of the North Bay Farmer’s Market. He was the proud innovator of Hydroponic Market Gardening in the area and along with his wife Patti, inspired countless growers with the farm’s YouTube channel. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Wayne’s life will take place at a later date. If a donation in memory of Wayne is desired, the Heart & Stroke Foundation is suggested.
