He was committed to his family and loved ones. He loved Canada and everything Ukrainian.
He was an active church member and participated in and supported the Ukrainian community. His love of singing kept him active in the church choir as well as the Ukrainian community choirs (Boyan).
Well into his 80’s, he volunteered at his cherished Werchowyna as Camp Director (referent) for the Ukrainian Youth Association. Managing and repairing the camp buildings so it would be ready to welcome the next generation of “symivtsi” (summer campers).
One of his many projects at the camp was the Brama (arch) that welcomes everyone to camp Werchowyna.
As we exit Werchowyna we see the inscription on the arch, “Бувайте Здорові і Богові Милі. “Stay Healthy and in God’s Grace”
