Obituary of Wallace Christie
CHRISTIE, Wallace (Wally) Edwin (Retired AECL & Life member of Royal Canadian Legion Pembroke Branch 72) passed away peacefully at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Monday 29 November, 2021 in his 105th year.
Wallace Christie of Pembroke, beloved husband of the late Mae Elizabeth Christie (nee McKinnon). Dear father of Ted (Irma) Christie of London, Ontario. Predeceased by daughter Shirley Santone, by parents William & Anina (nee Smith) and by sisters Jessie Mailman and Doris Chetwynd. Loving grandfather of Michael and David Santone; Marc (Thea) Christie and Alicia (Michael) Turman. Great grandfather of Juniper Christie; Cecily, Blaise, Sydney and Vincent Turman. Survived and missed by many nieces and nephews.
The family is forever grateful for all the outstanding care and love provided by the entire staff of Jake’s House Retirement Home, Lucan during Wally’s seven year residence.
Respecting Wally’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation and service will take place in the Spring. Final internment in Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke. (If so desired an expression of sympathy may be made to the charity of your choice).
