It is with great sadness that Viola Maxine McLean of Chipman, NB passed away peacefully at her home on March 30, 2021 at the age of 77. Viola was born in Ripples, NB on March 9, 1944, to the late Ernest and Evelyn (McKay) Ackerson. She is survived by her husband Charles McLean, one daughter, Shawna (Doug) Gill of Medicine Hat, Alberta, three sons, Dwayne (Ann) McLean of Quispamsis, NB, Brent (Lisa) McLean of Fredericton, NB, Sheldon McLean of Chipman, NB; and her six grandchildren that she adored, Samantha, Jasmine, Savannah, Luke, Mackenzie, and Courtney. Viola was also survived by her sisters Marie, Cheryl, Lorna, Judy, Carol Joy; brothers Weldon, Floyd, Ernie, Daryl, Wayne, Garnet and Roger Ackerson. She was predeceased by her sisters Eleanor, Freda and Betty. There are several nieces and nephews.
Viola loved numbers and was employed by Dicarlo’s Home Hardware as the bookkeeper for forty three years. She was very dedicated and committed to her work. She was an avid reader and could be seen at the Chipman Public Library with a handful of books. She loved serving God and loved volunteering at her church on several occasions. Viola loved all her children and provided everything they needed and sometimes things they did not need. She loved her parents and siblings and barely missed a Friday night where she would be visiting them in Ripples. Everyone who was privileged enough to be part of Viola’s life, knew her as compassionate and lending a hand to people in need.
