Viktor Knab May 9th 2021

KNAB, Viktor (1925-2021) –
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our much-loved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to many, Viktor Knab, of Tillsonburg, at the V.O.N. Sakura House, Woodstock, on Sunday, May 9th, 2021, in his 97th year. Viktor was born in Dunabogdány, Budapest, Hungary to the late Johann Knab and Maria (Kreisz) Knab. He was a longtime member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Tillsonburg. Viktor’s love for his family was a priority in his life and he was always there to help, support and lend a hand. Viktor loved family get togethers and had a cultural love for good food, stemming from his German/Hungarian background. His strong commitment to work, love of humour, and a friend to decent living and family ties are all passed on to his family, friends, and those in his life community. He had a career in construction and reinvented himself in the 1960’s to farming tobacco in the Straffordville area, where his brother George had moved to earlier. He and Anna farmed and produced quality crops of tobacco year after year, until retirement in Tillsonburg. We were able to work together for many years as a whole family, farming together in the 80’s and 90’s. His life was truly admirable and his love for good food and fellowship is instilled in all of us. We will always remember him for his commitment to us all.
Viktor will be greatly missed by his loving and much-loved wife of over 70 years, Anna (Iseli) Knab, of Tillsonburg; by his daughter Marian and her husband Ed Muth, of Courtland and their children Tommy (Nathalie), Nick (Michelle), Michelle (Sean McCoy); by his daughter-in-law Marion Knab (late Albert, Aug. 13, 2017) and their sons Marshall (Shirlei), Anthony (Marilia). Always a caring great-grandfather to Julia, Bianca, Marcus, Sophia, Henry, Aoife, Lisa, and Camilla. Lovingly remembered by his sister Josephine Piriti and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by three brothers Johann Knab (1992), George Knab (2000), Wendelin Knab (2004) and by five sisters Maria Lang, Barbara Hock (1976), Gizella Elter (2007), Teresia Pizag, Eva Baksa.
