Victoria Margarete Montroy Strutt Thursday November 18th 2021

In loving memory of Victoria Montroy (nee Strutt). Thursday, who passed away peacefully on November 18th, 2021 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury. Vicki is survived by her son, Jim Jr (Wendy), grandsons Neil (Jahnna Bernier) and Tyler (Line), and great grandson Myles, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Jim Sr, brother Rudy Strutt, sisters Evelyn Wilson and Emma Fisher. Vicki was born and raised in Dryden, Ontario, and began her teaching career in Mattawa and Britt, where she met and married Jim in 1947. Eventually, they moved to Sudbury, where Vicki taught at Corpus Christi Elementary School for many years, retiring in 1983. Vicki was an avid 10-pin bowler and was involved with YBC at Notre Dame Bowl. Upon retirement, she spent many years doing volunteer work in the tuck shop at Memorial Hospital and with the downtown Seniors Centre. She enjoyed a good conversation, books, a good game of crib, and knitting. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Roch and the nursing staff at HSN, floors 4 and 8, for their care and compassion during these last few weeks. We’d also like to thank the many PSWs who have assisted her in her home, especially in these last few years. Special thanks to Cristalle for taking such good care of mum, you were her angel and we are forever grateful. There will be no visitation or service. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Sudbury Food Bank. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, www.lougheedfuneralhomes.com.
