Obituary of Vernon J. MacNichol
Vernon Joseph MacNichol; – The family of Vernon Joseph MacNichol sadly announce his passing on August 14th, 2021 at his home on Kerr’s Lake.
Born to parents Howard Allison (Pickle) MacNichol and Frances Mary MacNichol, nee; Fleming-Coles, on May 22nd, 1952. Vern spent his entire life in the St. Andrews, New Brunswick area.
Vern was an avid sports enthusiast, playing hockey well into his late 40’s. He definitely had a love/hate relationship with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
After retiring from his position as Postmaster of the St George Post Office, Vern continued his love of travelling the world by spending his winters first in Venezuela then Thailand.
Vern is survived by his sister, Jane Campbell Lauzier (Roger McNabb) of St Andrews; his brother John MacNichol (Betty) of Peachland, BC; nephews Scott Campbell (Lorna) and Andrew Campbell (Lori) of Fredericton; niece Linda Cary Green (Robyn McLaughlin) of Grand Manan; four great nieces; many cousins and his “best buddy” Ed Stinson.
Cremation has taken place, a private family burial will take place at the St Andrews Rural Cemetery at a later date.
