Verna Mae Wheaton
1940-2021
Verna Mae Wheaton – 81, of Black
Rock, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021 in the Valley Regional
Hospital, Kentville. Born in Black Rock, she was a daughter of the
late Vernon and Marion (Berry) Bowlby.
Verna Mae
was a proud member of the Black Rock Community and enjoyed spending
time with family and friends.
She is
survived by son, Gerald Wheaton; daughter, Jeanie (Wheaton) Gould;
grandchildren, Gerald Wheaton Jr., Tiffany (Wheaton) Horodecky, Wendy
Wheaton, Melissa Gould, Darryl Curran; great grandchildren, Rilley
Wheaton, Cody Horodecky, Draiven Horodecky, Naeesha Horodecky, Hailey
Atwell, Hayden Atwell, Cody Gould, Dillin Benjamin, Makiah Gould; ,
Kimberly (Curran) Baker, Zigana Curran, Joseph Curran; great
grandchildren, Owen and Scarlett; many nieces and nephews. Verna had
13 siblings.
In addition
to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Wheaton;
two great grandchildren, Fred Atwell and Mikalah
Benjamin.
A graveside
service will be held in the Burlington
Cemetery.
Donations in
memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
