Obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our wonderful mother and friend, Verna Wright, of Houston, B.C. She passed away peacefully the afternoon of Monday, November 1,2021.
Verna was born and raised in Ohio, USA. After marrying the love of her life, Sam, and having their two children, Anna and Blaine, they embarked on an adventure to the northern reaches of Canada, settling in Houston, BC in 1973. Here they raised their children and enjoyed the many outdoor activities in the beautiful surroundings of the Bulkley Valley. Verna continued her teaching career at Silverthorne Elementary where she touched the lives and hearts of so many.
Verna’s kind heart and sense of humour endeared her to all who have crossed paths with her. Her beautiful smile and sparkling eyes will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Verna’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Verna’s name to the Bulkley Valley District Hospital, PO Box 370, Smithers, BC, V0J 2N0.
