Vera MacIntosh 19262021

Vera MacIntosh
1926-2021
Vera Isabel MacIntosh, of Trenton, passed away
May 26, 2021 at the Aberdeen Hospital. Mom was born in Hillside on
June 22, 1926. She survived breast cancer in 1997 and soon after,
became part of the Women Alike. Mom was very proud to be part of this
group and took great pride being out with the other paddlers. Mom
loved to bake for any occasion. She was quite proud of her
“Best Ever Cookies” plaque from the Friday Bowling
League. Mom loved a good joke and listening to Sunday Country Gold
from Antigonish, but most of all, she loved her grandsons, Tommy
(Heidi), Brad (Lorena), and Al (Amanda); and her great grandchildren,
Reed, Penny and Summer. Mom was predeceased by her father, Clarence
Johnston; mother, Janetta Bell (MacLeod); her husband, Douglas Earle
MacIntosh; daughter, Karen Anne MacIntosh; sisters, Mary and Nellie;
brothers, William and James. Mom was the last surviving member of her
family. She is survived by several nieces and nephews; her daughter,
Bonnie (Tom) MacKenzie. Thank you to Mom’s “special
neighbours”, Donnie and Helen, Myrna, and Fergie and Miriam,
for always checking in or leaving dinners and treats. Special thanks
to those who looked after Mom on the 4th and 5th floors of the
Aberdeen, and Crystal MacLean NP, Westside Clinic, for all your help.
Cremation has taken place. In honour of Mom’s wishes, there
will be no funeral or visitation. The immediate family will celebrate
Mom’s life privately. If desired, donations may be made in
Mom’s memory to the Pictou County Food Bank. Arrangements
are under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral
Home.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Vera MacIntosh 19262021..
