Obituary
Velma Barbara Mogg of Silver Willow Lodge of Nanton passed away at Claresholm General Hospital on the 10th day of August 2021 at the age of 92.
Lovingly remembered Mother of Roger Mogg, daughter-in-law Trudy of Terrace BC; and daughter Wendy Mogg of Stavely, Alberta.
Velma was predeceased by her brother Colin Ray, his wives Dora and Lavina. Velma’s sister Peggy Rivers and Peggy’s husband, Short.
Velma was born at home in Birmingham England and immigrated to Canada at the age of 9 months. She was raised in Galt Ontario and also lived in Calgary AB; Nelson BC and Stavely AB. Velma had a great love of reading, knitting and cloud watching and jigsaw puzzles. She was intrigued by clouds formations and took many many amazing photos of sunrise, sunset and storm cloud formations.
Mother will be fondly remembered by family, friends and staff and residents of the Silver Willow Lodge in Nanton for her sense of humour, encouraging attitude and desire to help where she could.
Mother donated to many causes involving animals and children.
Velma is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Following Mom’s wishes, there will be no service, flowers or donations. Cremation was entrusted to Zentner Funeral Homes of Claresholm.
