It is with great sadness to announce the sudden passing of a very sweet, kind and gentle soul of Wikwemikong.
Vanessa Heather Josseta Pitawanakwat-Younes
on January 4, 2021 at the age of 28.
She leaves behind her precious little daughter Amira (2) and husband Mr. Youssef Younes of Ottawa.
Baby brother Moses Kenneth Pitawanakwat-Shawana, sister Cheryl Shawana, mother Mildred Pitawanakwat-Shawana, dad Kenneth Shawana and biological father James Gabow all of Wikwemikong.
Sister Jackie Gabow, brothers Jim and Joe Gabow
of the United States.
Sister Jamie Friday, nieces Emily and Brianna, nephew Adonis all of Bear Island, Ontario.
Sister Melanie Pitawanakwat, special friend Dr. Lucas Grayson of Ottawa.
Niece Jamie-Lynn Pitawanakwat-Naokwegijig, great nephew Christopher-Louis, nephew Ablius Pitawanakwat-Naokwegijig and great niece Lilly-Anna.
She will be deeply missed by many special aunties and uncles, cousins, godfather Wayne Jacko, godmother Beatrice Pitawanakwat-Jones, along with a thousand wonderful friends that she has touched so dearly with her compassionate soul.
Vanessa’s closest childhood friends were Dakota Odjig, Pierce Wemigwans and Bethany Peltier.
Vanessa, a.k.a “Totes” “Tote-Tote” was a dedicated hard working committed individual. Her hobbies were playing guitar, singing and making others feel they’re best at heart. Amira being her #ONE.
Celebration of life for this beautiful soul will be held at Rabbit Island Centre.
