Obituary
Valjean Charles Burns passed away in his sleep on Monday November 8, 2021. He was born on January 4, 1936 at the homestead in Shelby, to the late Charles A. and Erma R. (Oliver) Burns.
Valjean graduated from Batavia High School in 1955. He worked in collision until his retirement. He then worked at Whiting Door until he retired again. Valjean was an avid hunter.
Along with his parents, Valjean is predeceased by his brother and sister, his wife and mother of his children; Joy M. (Stout) Burns; his sons Mark and Douglas; his great-granddaughter Willow.
Valjean is survived by his children; Steven (Coralyn) of Avon, Scott (Carolyn) of Basom, Sue Ellen (Andrew) Buckenmeyer of Batavia and Valerie (Gregory) Houseknecht of Oakfield, daughter in law Lori (Bell) Burns; his former wife Judith Burns; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren with one on the way, along with several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours or services at his request.
