Valerie Johnston Tuesday January 5th 2021

With sadness we share with you the passing of Valerie Johnston after a long battle. Loving wife and best friend to Jake, best mom to Tait, sister-in-law to David and Sharon as well as Barbara Johnston. Aunt to many nieces and cousin to Julia Marie Harrison and Glenda Evans of Toronto as well as Sault Ste. Marie cousins Patti Kapfer, Allan and Joan Johnston, and Dan and Judy Carmichael.
Born in the Beaches area of Toronto, Val attended Malvern Collegiate. She then studied at the University of Toronto. Upon graduation she worked for Toronto Dominion Bank International Branch and Computax in Mississauga. During ski season in 1984/85 she met the love of her life, Jake. They were married in May of 1986.
Raising her son Tait was her biggest joy in life as well as being a Hockey/Lacrosse Mom. She moved up to Collingwood with Jake a few years ago and enjoyed volunteering, outdoor activities and being a social hostess to many friends.
Val will be cremated with both a family service and celebration of life to be held at a later date.
In memory of Val donations can be made to the Georgian Triangle Humane Society www.gths.ca and/or Hospice Georgian Triangle – Campbell House at www.hospicegeorgiantriangle.com
Rest peacefully now our dear Mama Bear.
